About Sol Mates

Comfortable diving in Lake Superior - Dive at your own pace and comfort level.

Sol Mates II is the largest dive boat on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Two diesel engines and two diesel generators are exceptionally quiet and allow for relaxation and conversation while cruising the lake.

A spacious interior salon and large bow areas allow everyone plenty of room to spread out and relax, watch videos on the HD TV, teach SCUBA classes and have discussions with your fellow divers.

Sol Mates’ two sleeping cabins are separate from the salon area. One cabin has an offset bunk bed and the other has two bunk beds. This not only makes Sol Mates comfortable and desirable for the male and female diver, but also for couples. The head is at the bottom of the stairs providing easy access to the toilet, sink, and shower.

Up to three fresh meals a day are provided depending on the specific charter package. Snacks between dives are always available, as are non-alcoholic beverages. We are a BOYB charter but any leftover alcohol from previous trips is free for all.

Diving Off Sol Mates

Sol Mates’ approx. 140 sq ft covered dive deck allows divers to get in and out of the water while staying out of the weather.

An onboard compressor provides air fills, a hot water shower helps mitigate the chilly Lake Superior water, and a dryer is available for drying clothes and towels.

Ample gear storage space is available, as are standard 120v outlets for charging dive lights or camera gear. 

Our crew is experienced, helpful, friendly SCUBA professionals experienced in cold water diving and Great Lakes charter operations.  We have an AED along with the standard 1st aid kits onboard.

The crew will work with each group to dive into the sites that they most desire based on the specific charter and weather.
